Bio
The Rupert Wates Trio are Rupert Wates, Stacey Lorin and Vivian Gail. Close friends for many years, whenever they meet, they sing, their voices blending seamlessly into a unique sound. They perform together as often as they can, whenever their schedules bring them together, on stages all over North America. They sing original songs written by Rupert Wates, taken from his twenty year catalog and spanning styles from folk, to jazz, to cabaret, to something altogether beyond any label. With only Rupert’s guitar and their three voices, The Rupert Wates Trio enchant audiences everywhere, leaving an impression in their listeners’ hearts and minds that they will carry with them forever.
Rupert Wates was born in London, UK, and has been based in the US since 2007. He signed a publishing deal with Eaton Music (London) in 1994 and has been a full time songwriter ever since. He has won well over 40 songwriting and performing awards. In 2018 he has been a Finalist in the Kerrville New Song Folk Contest and an Emerging Artist at Falconridge. More than 25 of his songs have been covered by other artists, and in the last two years two full length tribute albums to his material have been recorded by independent artists in Nashville and Los Angeles (details on COVERS page at website below). He has released 9 solo albums, tracks from which have been played on radio worldwide. He averages 120 live shows a year, in every state in the US, in Canada and in Europe.
